Connecting People and Services

2-1-1 Texas, a service within the Community Impact division of the United Way of the Brazos Valley, provides information and referral services that link people in need of health and human services assistance with appropriate providers in the community. 2-1-1 Texas provides callers with information about and referrals to human services for every day needs, as well as in times of crisis.  2-1-1 can offer resources for those in need or those wishing to volunteer at the following types of service organizations:


Basic Human Needs:  food pantries, clothing closets, shelters, rent assistance, and utility assistance.

Physical and Mental Health Resources:  health insurance programs, Medicaid and Medicare, health clinics, dental services, immunizations, mental health, Children's Health Insurance Program, medical information lines, crisis intervention services, support groups, counseling, drug and alcohol intervention, and rehabilitation.

Employment Services:  job search, job training, transportation assistance, and education programs.
Support for Older Americans and Persons with Disabilities:  adult day care, congregate meals, Meals on Wheels, respite care, home health care, transportation, and independent living programs.

 

Support for Children, Youth, and Families:  child care, after school programs, Head Start, family resource centers, summer camps, recreation programs, mentoring, tutoring, and protective services.​
